“With a slight shrug, Entonin reached for Karameth’s still full glass and tipped it into his own. Whatever the mercenary thought was ‘coming’, he was sure he had time for another glass of wine.”
Entonin is a priest of Ardulath, from the Holy Ellathian Empire, where temples rule rather than queens. As a Seeker, Entonin is an ambassador to other nations – though some might call him a spy. Seekers travel across the entire continent, striking deals and winning allies, but no Ellathian priest has set foot in Amoria for five hundred years. After all, it’s full of magic-wielding heretics, exiled from Ellath on penalty of death.
So here Entonin finds himself, in a forbidden city, populated by people who could kill him with a single word (and who have every reason to), and it looks like the glass city might just be cracking at the edges. Interesting. But Entonin has his own agenda, and the city doesn’t necessarily have to stay whole for him to achieve it. In the meantime, he has wine and the company of his mysterious bodyguard, though who he really is is another question entirely.
